SAP IBP Transformation – POC Delivered
One of the large manufacturers in North America operates multiple plants worldwide and has a sales, production, and service presence in about 30+ countries. To drive digital transformation, they set out to reimagine their planning and supply chain functions. The objective was to optimize business results based on collaborative decision-making and a demand-driven operating model for MRP.
To do this, Sam the VP in charge of this initiative needed an integrated end-to-end planning system to support automated statistical forecasts and real-time simulations within single platform. The SAP IBP was selected as the system of choice which optimizes planning results using forecast algorithms and predictive analytics to create standard, global templates for demand management as well as sales & operations. This streamlined methodology increases consistency across the organization by aligning individual business plans with industry-accepted standards which ultimately would lead to more successful overall strategies.
Thinking Minds were able to promptly present Jane as one of its top IBP consultants to the manufacturer. Jane who has strong IBP experience was called to provide a proof of concept. Jane is a hands-on pro-active troubleshooter who can rapidly identify business problems & design innovative solutions in diverse environments and recommend alternatives to resolve conflicts between business requirements and standard system functionality. Specializing in SAP IBP implementations, with her proven ability to be a problem-solver in various industries, Jane was excited to take on the challenge of delivering a proof of concept for a new integrated end-to-end planning system using SAP to support automated statistical forecasts and real-time simulations. She knew that she would need to be proactive and quickly identify any business problems that may arise to design innovative solutions.
She worked closely with the client to understand their needs and rapidly provided a prototype of a solution that met most of their requirements. The client was impressed with her ability to quickly adapt to their unique environment and recommend alternatives to resolve conflicts between business requirements and standard system functionality. Thanks to Jane’s hard work, the client can now successfully move to implement a transformative planning solution that improves their business results. They are confident that they would also benefit from better transparency of data sources, forecast accuracy improvement, and faster simulation and scenario capabilities.
